Hereby’s pilot starts this winter, and nothing on this site can be used yet. The roadmap has the details.

Hereby for visitors

Tell the owner what you thought.

If you liked a place, or didn't, you can tell the owner yourself. In the pilot, you tap the Hereby stand at the counter and write a few words. It takes seconds, and the owner can write back.

What you get

A private message to the owner.

Pilot · from go-live

Tap the stand and write a private message. It goes to the owner, not the internet. If you'd rather say it in public, a Google review is one tap away, and both choices look the same.

A reply.

Pilot · from go-live

The owner can answer you. You see the reply the next time you tap at that place. We don't ask for your email, so we can't send it to you.

Nothing to install.

Pilot · from go-live

You tap and a page opens in your browser. There's no account to make and no name to give. Places only learn who you are if you tell them. The privacy summary takes about a minute to read: /privacy.

Delete what you sent.

Pilot · from go-live

You can delete it from the phone you used. There's more on /privacy.

Coming later

Not part of the pilot, and none of it exists yet.

  • Your own visit history, locked with your own key. Planned A list of the places you've been, kept by you. We're designing it so Hereby can't read it, and it may end up in a different form.
  • Your visits shown on reviews elsewhere. Planned If a review site checks Hereby, a review you write there could show "visited, March 2027" without showing who you are. That needs agreements with those sites.
  • Apps that ask your permission. Planned Travel journals and event apps could ask to see your visits. You say yes or no, and you can change your mind. Tourism challenges are only an Idea.

Our promises to you Pilot · from go-live

We promise that:

  • A business never learns who you are unless you tell them.
  • Nothing is collected from people who didn't tap. There's no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi scanning and no background tracking.
  • Everyone gets the same choice, the same way. We don't filter who sees the Google link.
  • Tap events are deleted after 90 days.

Visitors don't pay. Today, businesses pay for Hereby, and later platforms will too (see /pricing). /privacy lists what's recorded.
