Hereby’s pilot starts this winter, and nothing on this site can be used yet. The roadmap has the details.

Hereby for businesses

Private messages, weekly numbers and a record of your visits.

Hereby keeps a record of every tap at your counter. You can use it to hear from the people who tapped, count them, and show the numbers to anyone who asks.

Six things Hereby does for a business

Go-live is planned for the end of January 2027.

1. Messages and replies.

Pilot · from go-live

An unhappy guest can post a review instead of telling your staff, and you might not see it for days. With Hereby, someone who tapped can send you a private message from the tap page, and you can reply to it. They can always make their message public or go straight to Google, and we'll never hide that choice.

2. The Google link.

Pilot · from go-live

Every customer who taps gets a one-tap link to leave you a Google review. You keep a record of tapped visits to attach when you report a review you think is fake. There's more on Google below.

3. Your numbers.

Pilot · within 30 days of go-live

Every Monday you get an email with last week's taps, your busiest hours and roughly how many people came back. "Roughly" because a cleared cookie or a new phone looks like a new person. Once a month you also get a results page, which we put together by hand to start.

4. A summary you can share.

Pilot · within 30 days of go-live

When a tourism board, a landlord, a lender or a sponsor asks how busy you are, most owners can only say "trust us". Hereby gives you a summary of tap-verified visits to send them. It counts people who tapped, not everyone who came in.

5. The badge and the window decal.

Pilot · decal from go-live, website badge within 30 days

A window decal that says "Tap-verified visits at this place", and a badge for your website that shows your count of tap-verified visits. Neither shows stars or ratings, because Hereby verifies visits, not reviews.

6. A review flow built to be fair.

Pilot · from go-live, published once the same-choice flow is built

Everyone who taps gets the same choice. Nobody gets anything for a review, and nobody is screened out. Google and regulators are getting stricter about review practices, and we're building Hereby with that in mind.

Will it work with Google?

Not the way you might hope. Google won't put our badge on your reviews, and nobody can make Google delete a review. Hereby does two things with Google:

  • Every customer who taps gets a one-tap link to leave you a Google review.
  • You keep a record of tapped visits to attach when you report a review you think is fake. It may help, but Google decides what happens next.

The record shows how many tapped visits your place had. It can't tie a particular Google review to a particular visit. We can't promise you a number of reviews or a rating. During the pilot we plan to count how many customers choose to post publicly, and tell you.

Planned Later, we want review and booking platforms to check a Hereby visit themselves, so a review could show "visited, March 2027". That needs agreements with those platforms, and it doesn't exist today. The network

Questions owners ask

  • What does it cost? Founding partners pay $49 CAD for the kit. The service is included until May 31, 2027, or 90 days from go-live, whichever is later. After that it's $39 CAD per location per month, locked for 12 months, plus applicable taxes. The details are on /pricing.
  • Is there a contract? A one-page agreement with no lock-in. You can cancel any time and export your counts and messages.
  • Will my staff have to do anything? Very little. The stand sits where people pay, and onboarding takes 15 minutes. Staff mustn't push or reward customers, or tap the stand themselves, because that makes the record less honest.
  • Will it work with Google? Not by putting a badge on your reviews. The section above says what it does do.
  • Will you give me my customers' names or emails? No. Hereby never gives you a customer's name or account. A customer can tell you who they are in a message if they want to.
  • What happens to my customers' data? Tap events are deleted after 90 days. Hereby's app, database and backups are hosted in Toronto, Canada. The plain-language summary is at /privacy.
  • Does this work in winter, when it's quiet? That's partly why we're starting now. The pilot runs through the winter, and renewal is decided on spring data, not winter data.
  • Can I give customers a discount or reward for leaving a review? No, and neither can your staff. Google's rules don't allow rewards for reviews. Every customer who taps gets the same choice, the same way.
  • What if a customer leaves a bad message? You see it first and you can reply. The customer can still choose to make it public, and we won't filter who sees the Google link.
  • What if I want out? Leave any time. We switch the tag off right away and send you an export of your counts and messages.
